Primitive Shape Robots
An introduction to navigating Blender and working with simple shapes such as cubes and cylinders.
This is typically the first task students work on, to introduce Blender in a fun and creative way as well as develop basic skills in:
*Navigating the Blender workspace
*Using Object Mode transform tools to manipulate primitive shapes
*Add flat colour textures
*Use simple transform tools within Edit Mode

Dioramas

The first 5 lessons are typically directed towards building foundational skills within Blender, which are then combined and applied to a larger scale (approx. 5-10 lessons) diorama project.
The simple turntable animation of this project also leads nicely into the introduction to animation that follows!

"Steak and Chips" Diorama Project by student (10) completed in approx. 12 hours. The textures were provided based on descriptions from the student, but the student created themself: all the preproduction ideas; models; unwrapping; lighting; turnaround animations!

A 90 minute (one lesson) "spooky diorama challenge" for the month of October
Sewing Pattern Project
This project was not games art related but was still completed in Blender to sculpt a 3D model and turn itinto a sewing pattern based on the UV unwrap (using an additional free software Plushify)

Animation
Animations made by student (10)
Rigs were pre-made and provided, however all animation, lighting and rendering placed onto the rigs was done by the student.
These animations were created with the 12 principles of animation in mind as well as careful observation of real life reference and pre-existing animations

This attack animation was created by the student (10) for their larger ongoing "video game trailer project"
This boss character would be passive until attacked (hence the change in eye colour) and exist to protect a treasure that the player character is trying to obtain
For this animation the student followed the whole workflow: concept/design; modelling; texturing; rigging; animation; rendering!
