Me?" Weekend Bootcamps

2.5 Day introduction to 3D art for students aged 13-16 who will be picking their GCSE or Post-16 options soon and are interested in a career in: Game dev, VFX, 3D design, Concept Art or similar!
What Is covered?

This short course is designed for complete beginners with the goal of having 2 "portfolio ready" pieces and the skills to create more independently!
Skills covered on...
Saturday:
-Introduction to Blender's interface
-Primitive shapes/meshes
-Shape transformations
-Applying colour, shininess and transparency to models
-Manipulating vertices, edges and faces
-triangles vs. quads vs. N-gons
-Optimization techniques
-Importance of creating efficient models
Sunday:
-Using skills from Saturday to create a simple prop such as a sword
-Creating a simple animation to display how the model looks in its final form vs it's underlying structure or "wireframe"
-Creating a mini diorama around a theme decided on by the group (Dioramas make excellent portfolio pieces)
-Basic colour theory
-3 Point lighting set ups
Monday:
-Students will be given individual timeslots for 1-1 feedback on their work as well as the opportunity to talk through their next steps
